Sustainable Winegrowing from the folks at SWP

  1. I think sustainable wine growing, as long as it does not hurt the flavour too much, is something every winery should strive towards!

Have you ever tried a biodynamical, organic wine?

  2. When nature trumps chemicals, it's a good thing! Take Alexander Valley & Lolonis who not only incorporate sustainable practices but produce damn good vino. Sustainable farming can initially be an expensive process so I take my hat off to boutique wineries who take a holistic approach.

Funny you should mention organic wine! I just had some last night - a sexy, peppery '06 Zin from La Rocca Vineyards. Some wine aficionados say that organic wine tastes better but my palate can't tell the difference. Would be fun to do a blind tasting of organic vs non from the same region. That said, I wonder if organic wines age better...
